"Designed by Willie Fernie, Dumfries and Galloway is set in beautiful rolling countryside in the South West of Scotland. At 6,222 yards it is fairly flat with only one or two fairways having moderate inclines. It has been the subject of extensive tree planting over the years and the addition of two new par fours to replace two par threes four years ago presents a challenge to low and high handicappers alike. The course holds SGU ranking order of merit 36 hole Pro-Am in September each year, the SGU order of merit Sutherland Challenge 72 hole competition in July each year and the SLGU order of merit 36 hole Mary McCally Trophy in August."
