"Situated on Gallow Hill only a quarter of a mile west of Leuchars St Andrews, on the A919 road to Dundee, this club is now in its 2nd Century. The elevated site of the course here allows spectacular views over the river Eden to the town and bay of St Andrews. The unmistakable shapes of the Royal & Ancient Clubhouse and adjacent famous buildings surrounding the world famous Old Course, are within sight. The course lies on a pre-historic settlement that is protected by Historic Scotland. It comprises of wooded park and heath land on an undulating well-draining sandy base, which makes for fine year-round golfing."
