"Founded in 1878, Broughty Golf Club is one of the original golf clubs in Monifieth and has a proud tradition based on the undoubted sociability of the club. Broughty's history is a fascinating journey through the development both of golf and the British Empire with many founding members returning from posts abroad and having their legacy remembered in competitions such as the India Medal and Calcutta Cup. Visitors are assured of a very warm welcome at Broughty with a full range of meals and refreshments available from breakfast through to dinner. The club has an excellent range of facilities - both the main and upstairs lounges have a lovely outlook on the 18th green of the Medal course."
