"Swords Golf Club was founded in 1995 and affiliated to the Golfing Union of Ireland in 1996. Swords Golf Club has a reputation as being one of the friendliest Clubs in Dublin and the unique atmosphere within the Club is often remarked upon by both Members and visitors alike. The Club competitions include: Captains Day, Vice Captains Day, Presidents Day, Captains Charity Day, Golfer of the Year which is run from September to August, Singles Matchplay, Doubles Matchplay, and weekly competitions each week of the year. The weekly competitions vary from singles, doubles, v par, team events and mixed events with the ladies club. There are also Junior and Senior competitions.

The Club also enters a variety of Inter Club Competitions and also plays an annual match against Turvey Golf Club."
