"This is a very scenic course offering magnificent views of Cork Harbour, busy with maritime trade and water sports, and the historic port of Cobh (whence the Titanic made her last fateful stop en route to the ice fields of the North Atlantic). Water is a major hazard on 4 of the course's 9 holes. Not a long course at 5,100 metres, with an 18-hole par of 70, the emphasis is on accuracy and subtlety. Straight driving and precise iron play yield best results. The closing two holes, both featuring challenging tee shots over water, are particularly fine tests of skill and nerve, especially when the wind blows hardMembership is also open to the local community. A wonderful tale and a testament to the powers of enthusiasm!"
