"Drax Golf Club was formerly linked to the power station in Yorkshire but has now branched out on its own. It is now running as a very successful members only club where visitors are welcomed on most days, the only stipulation being that you book slightly in advance and that you must play with a member. Club officials, however, are eager to encourage visitors and say they will find a member to play with you even if you can't!
The course is now fully maintained by the club and there is a full-time greenkeeping team who look after the course. Membership of the course has rocketed to five hundred and there are already plans in the pipeline to extend the course to 12 holes over the next few years."
