"Woodham Golf Course, located off Burnhill Way, Woodham, on the northern edge of Newton Aycliffe, provides a mature 18 hole course, which gives the golfer a full and varied challenge through woodland and parkland settings.
Woodham Golf Course was originally opened in 1981 and the excellent clubhouse was completed in early 1990.
The golf course was designed by James Hamilton Stutt and is laid out in 229 acres of parkland.
The full 18 holes is par 73 and totals 6688 yards.Woodham provides the golfer with one of the most challenging courses in the North.
The two loops of 9 holes. start and finish close to the clubhouse, and in betweeen, meander around mature woodland with large trees and numerous lakes which ensure there is plenty of challenge for players at all levels
Before their game, members can practice on the spacious practice area available alongside the first fairway. There is also a practice net and putting green.
The course hosts numerous club competitions and has also been the venue for the Northern PGA Tournament and several Pro-Am competitions.
The clubhouse contains the Peter Kelly Professional Shop where green fees are collected and a wide range of equipment and clothing is on sale."
