Golf made its first appearance in the region in 1893. The present course, built in the late 1920's, was designed by the famous architect Tom Simpson. The course, which is ranked among the 1000 best in mainland Europe, nestles in unspoiled woods and fens on the hills above the renowned thermal resort of Spa. The superb setting of this beautifully designed and gently undulating course, which winds its way through the trees, relaxes and soothes both mind and body. The challenge it offers is such that the club has hosted many Belgian Opens and other international competitions.
